A place between Sea and Sky

Grief moves with the Tide

Some wounds cannot be healed by holding them back.

They must be faced, carried, and finally given to the tide.

How my grief moves:

When my family lost my niece Savannah I could feel it breaking us. We are a family that is close. Anyone that knows our family knows how much we love each other. So when one of us unexpectedly was taken from us. We experienced emotions that were unbearable.
Savannah Noel was a kind teenager who just turned eighteen and was graduating high school that May. She had so many plans for her life.
I had been working on my book for years and had just finished my MBA program so I jumped back into finishing it. I let my grief flow through the pages and it was therapeutic for me. This is how the underlying theme of the book was added because it was not originally my plan for the book. I think that it ties in really well with my main character Kael. I did add in other things in my life that cause me grief such as the absence of certain people that should be in my life and are not. What I learned from writing my story is:
What we carry does not have to consume us. The tide does not erase what was lost.

It carries it forward.
